Responsibilities
- Lead design and execution of large-scale civil infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, and urban drainage systems
- Perform advanced structural analysis using industry-standard software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, SAP2000)
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation while ensuring compliance with AASHTO and OSHA standards
- Conduct site investigations, geotechnical assessments, and feasibility studies for complex developments
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate multidisciplinary teams including architects, environmental specialists, and contractors
- Prepare detailed technical documentation including construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred) from ABET-accredited institution
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in transportation or municipal infrastructure design
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Expertise in hydraulic modeling (HEC-RAS, SWMM) and geotechnical analysis software
- Demonstrated success managing $5M+ infrastructure projects with complex regulatory requirements
- Strong knowledge of Illinois DOT (IDOT) and federal permitting processes
- Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) or LEED AP credential highly desirable
