Responsibilities
- Lead design and execution of large-scale infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, and municipal facilities
- Manage project lifecycle from conception through completion ensuring adherence to budget, timeline, and regulatory standards
- Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments for civil engineering projects
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate multidisciplinary teams including architects, contractors, and government agencies
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and local building codes while implementing sustainable engineering practices
- Utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and BIM technologies for precise design documentation and modeling
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, proposals, and permit applications for municipal review
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering with emphasis on infrastructure projects
- PE (Professional Engineer) license in Illinois or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proven expertise in structural analysis, geotechnical engineering, and hydraulic systems
- Advanced proficiency in CAD/BIM software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit) and engineering analysis tools
- Demonstrated success managing $10M+ construction projects with complex stakeholder coordination
- Strong understanding of LEED and sustainable infrastructure development principles
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills with ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences
