Responsibilities
- Lead design and construction oversight of large-scale infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, and water treatment facilities
- Perform structural analysis and hydraulic modeling using industry-standard software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, HEC-RAS)
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and cost estimates for municipal and private clients
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources while ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate multidisciplinary teams including architects, environmental scientists, and contractors
- Conduct site inspections and resolve technical challenges during construction phases
- Develop sustainable design solutions incorporating green infrastructure principles
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (MS preferred) from ABET-accredited institution
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering with 3+ years in project management
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proficiency in BIM/CIM technologies and engineering analysis software
- Demonstrated experience with municipal infrastructure projects and permitting processes
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and construction management best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with client presentation experience
- LEED AP certification or equivalent sustainability credentials preferred
