Responsibilities
- Lead design and construction oversight for municipal infrastructure projects including bridges, highways, and water systems
- Perform complex structural analysis using industry-standard software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit)
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and compliance with local/state regulations
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including architects, environmental specialists, and contractors
- Develop innovative solutions for geotechnical challenges and sustainable construction methods
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, proposals, and permit documentation
- Mentor junior engineers through technical guidance and professional development
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of progressive experience in infrastructure design and construction
- PE license in Illinois (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Expert proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and structural analysis software
- Proven track record of managing projects over $10M in value
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety protocols
- Experience with sustainable design practices (LEED certification a plus)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
