Responsibilities
- Lead design and construction oversight of large-scale transportation, water resources, and structural projects
- Develop comprehensive engineering plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, BIM, and GIS technologies
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and compliance with TxDOT and municipal regulations
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate multidisciplinary teams (architects, environmental specialists)
- Conduct site investigations, geotechnical analysis, and feasibility studies
- Prepare technical specifications, cost estimates, and bid documentation
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and sustainability standards (LEED, Envision)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (MS preferred) from ABET-accredited institution
- 8+ years progressive experience in civil infrastructure design
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Expert proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software (HEC-RAS)
- Demonstrated success managing $5M+ transportation or water projects
- Strong knowledge of TxDOT standards, FEMA floodplain regulations, and local permitting
- LEED AP or Envision Sustainability Professional certification preferred
- Excellent communication skills for client presentations and public hearings
