Responsibilities
- Design and oversee implementation of complex civil infrastructure projects including bridges, highways, and water treatment facilities
- Lead project teams of 5-8 engineers, coordinating with architects, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Perform advanced structural analysis using industry-standard software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit)
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal engineering codes and regulations
- Manage project budgets and timelines, delivering solutions within 95% of projected costs
- Conduct site inspections and feasibility studies for new development projects
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in civil infrastructure design
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois
- Proficiency in BIM/CIM technologies and structural analysis software
- Demonstrated experience with large-scale municipal infrastructure projects
- Strong project management skills with PMP certification preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles and LEED certification
