Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of civil engineering projects, from concept and feasibility studies through to final construction and handover.
- Technical Design: Develop detailed technical designs, calculations, and drawings using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil 3D.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all designs and site operations strictly adhere to UK building regulations, health and safety standards (CSCS), and environmental legislation.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure project milestones are met.
- Mentorship: Guide junior engineers and technicians, providing technical supervision and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Cost Management: Assist in budget preparation and cost control measures to ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints.
Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree (BEng) or Master’s degree (MEng) in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Chartered Status: Chartered status with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or equivalent professional body.
- Experience: Proven track record of at least 5-8 years in civil engineering, with significant experience in site supervision and structural design.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in BIM software (Revit) and CAD tools (AutoCAD, MicroStation).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex engineering challenges creatively.
