Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive family assessments and develop safety plans for at-risk children
- Provide crisis intervention and trauma-informed counseling to children and caregivers
- Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, and legal systems to coordinate services
- Facilitate family reunification or alternative permanency planning when necessary
- Maintain detailed case documentation and ensure compliance with state regulations
- Train and mentor junior staff on child welfare best practices
- Advocate for policy improvements through community engagement and data-driven reporting
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years of child welfare or related social services experience
- Licensure as LMSW or LCSW in New York State
- Expertise in trauma-informed care and family systems theory
- Strong crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills
- Proficiency in electronic case management systems (e.g., CWS/CMS)
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Mandarin preferred
- Valid New York State driver's license and reliable transportation
