Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload of patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Perform comprehensive clinical assessments, interpret diagnostic tests (ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests), and develop tailored treatment plans.
- Collaborate daily with cardiothoracic surgeons, electrophysiologists, and interventional cardiologists to optimize surgical outcomes.
- Provide critical pre- and post-operative education to patients and their families to ensure continuity of care.
- Lead clinical rounds, providing expert insights to nursing staff and residents to enhance care delivery standards.
- Maintain precise electronic health records (EHR) documentation, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols and billing standards.
- Participate in ongoing clinical research and quality improvement projects to enhance patient safety and heart health metrics.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
- Current, unencumbered Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Massachusetts.
- Board certification as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP (AGACNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience in cardiovascular or critical care nursing.
- Active BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS certification is a plus.
- Demonstrated expertise in interpreting complex cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills with a proven track record in multidisciplinary teamwork.
