Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and manage individualized care plans for patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions.
- Perform bedside procedures including central line placement, arterial line insertion, and thoracentesis under physician supervision.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests such as echocardiograms, cardiac stress tests, and cardiac catheterization reports.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize post-operative recovery protocols for cardiovascular surgery patients.
- Provide patient and family education regarding medication management, lifestyle modifications, and long-term heart health.
- Ensure rigorous documentation compliance in accordance with hospital standards and billing requirements.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives and departmental quality improvement projects.
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
- Current, unencumbered Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Massachusetts.
- Board Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with cardiac focus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cardiology, ICU, or step-down unit care.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
- Demonstrated ability to function autonomously in a high-pressure clinical setting.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a commitment to compassionate, patient-first care.
