Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and provide direct nursing care to patients in critical condition.
- Administer medications and treatments precisely according to physician orders.
- Operate and monitor complex life-support equipment, including ventilators and hemodialysis machines.
- Interpret diagnostic tests and lab results, reporting significant changes in patient status immediately.
- Maintain accurate and detailed electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with hospital standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute patient care plans.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families during high-stress situations.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Valid and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an ICU, CCU, or high-acuity setting.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and CCRN certifications required.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and critical care monitoring software.
- Exceptional critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills under pressure.
