What You Will Do
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in the month-end and year-end close processes, financial reporting, and strategic planning. We are looking for a leader who can bridge the gap between data and decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare complex financial reports, variance analysis, and reconciliations for senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows to optimize cash flow management.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing actionable insights to drive business performance.
- Ensure full compliance with tax regulations, payroll processing, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and coordinate all necessary documentation.
Qualifications
- Certified General Accountant (CGA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) designation is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws, payroll regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
