As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health of our organization. You will oversee complex financial processes, ensure compliance with GAAP, and provide critical insights to the leadership team.
Responsibilities
- Manage the General Ledger (GL) and Month-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and reported on time.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, providing variance analysis to management.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure strict compliance with internal policies, federal, state, and local tax regulations, and assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee the reconciliation of bank accounts and general ledger accounts, resolving discrepancies and managing the A/P and A/R workflows.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve internal controls to increase efficiency.
- Tax Preparation: Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax returns and coordinate with external tax consultants.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior accountants and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Master’s degree (MBA) or CPA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of GAAP, tax laws, and financial regulations.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
