As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in our financial reporting and compliance processes. You will be responsible for overseeing the month-end close, preparing financial statements, and ensuring the integrity of our accounting records. Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly and annual financial closing processes, ensuring all deliverables are met on time and within compliance standards.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Perform complex reconciliations of bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and intercompany transactions.
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis to management.
- Ensure strict adherence to internal controls and company policies to mitigate financial risk.
- Collaborate with external auditors during year-end audits and tax filings.
- Mentor junior staff and provide training on accounting software and best practices.
Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) designation (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with advanced accounting software (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
