Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in accordance with GAAP and corporate policies.
- Month-End Close: Manage the end-of-month close process, ensuring all general ledger accounts are reconciled and all journal entries are properly documented.
- Process Optimization: Identify areas for improvement in accounting workflows and implement automated solutions to increase efficiency.
- Audit Support: Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors and internal control reviews, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Compliance: Monitor regulatory changes and ensure the company maintains full compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior accountants and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, Macros) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite).
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex financial discrepancies and implement effective solutions.
