Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive merchandising plans that align with the company’s strategic vision and financial goals.
- Analyze complex sales data, market trends, and consumer behavior to optimize product assortment and inventory placement.
- Collaborate closely with the Design and Buying teams to curate collections that maximize margin and sell-through rates.
- Manage stock levels effectively to prevent stockouts and reduce excess inventory through strategic markdown planning.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key vendors and suppliers to ensure product quality and timely delivery.
- Lead and mentor a team of Merchandising Associates, providing guidance on performance metrics and best practices.
- Monitor competitor activities and identify new business opportunities within the luxury retail sector.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in retail merchandising, preferably within the luxury or fashion industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing P&L (Profit and Loss) statements and inventory turnover.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and merchandising software systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Ability to travel to retail locations and vendor showrooms as required.
