Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems from concept to production, ensuring performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and fluid dynamics simulations (FEA/CFD), to validate designs and predict performance.
- Create comprehensive 2D and 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings using industry-standard software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA).
- Collaborate closely with electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration and manufacturability (DFM/DFA).
- Develop and execute test plans for prototypes, analyze data, and iterate designs based on experimental results and feedback.
- Source and evaluate materials, components, and manufacturing processes to optimize product performance, cost, and supply chain efficiency.
- Document design specifications, technical reports, and validation plans thoroughly.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for existing products, processes, and design methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
- 3-7 years of professional experience in mechanical design and product development, preferably in a fast-paced, high-tech industry.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, PTC Creo, Siemens NX); SolidWorks expertise highly preferred.
- Strong understanding and practical experience with FEA/CFD tools and principles for structural, thermal, and fluid analysis.
- Demonstrated experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Familiarity with various manufacturing processes such as injection molding, CNC machining, casting, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a creative approach to engineering challenges.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
