Responsibilities

  • System Design & Modeling: Lead the mechanical design of complex vehicle components using SolidWorks and advanced CAD tools, ensuring adherence to strict engineering standards.
  • Prototyping & Testing: Manage the entire lifecycle of prototypes, from 3D printing to physical testing, and analyze stress and fatigue data using ANSYS or Abaqus.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers and software developers to integrate mechanical systems into the broader vehicle architecture.
  • Manufacturing Support: Liaise with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for high-volume production and efficient assembly processes.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs meet federal safety regulations and industry-specific quality standards (ISO, IATF).
  • Team Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and conduct rigorous design reviews to drive technical excellence within the department.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the automotive or heavy machinery sectors.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA, and experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software.
