Responsibilities
- System Design & Modeling: Lead the mechanical design of complex vehicle components using SolidWorks and advanced CAD tools, ensuring adherence to strict engineering standards.
- Prototyping & Testing: Manage the entire lifecycle of prototypes, from 3D printing to physical testing, and analyze stress and fatigue data using ANSYS or Abaqus.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers and software developers to integrate mechanical systems into the broader vehicle architecture.
- Manufacturing Support: Liaise with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for high-volume production and efficient assembly processes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs meet federal safety regulations and industry-specific quality standards (ISO, IATF).
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and conduct rigorous design reviews to drive technical excellence within the department.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the automotive or heavy machinery sectors.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA, and experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software.
- Soft Skills: Strong project management abilities and excellent communication skills for technical presentations.
- Problem Solving: Proven track record of troubleshooting complex engineering problems and delivering solutions under tight deadlines.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
