Responsibilities
- Lead Mechanical Design: Spearhead the conceptualization, design, and development of complex mechanical systems and industrial machinery using CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD).
- Prototyping & Testing: Oversee the creation of prototypes, manage testing protocols, and analyze data to validate design performance and safety standards.
- FEA Analysis: Utilize Finite Element Analysis to predict product behavior under stress, ensuring durability and reliability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components into larger systems.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed technical documentation, including BOMs (Bill of Materials), manufacturing drawings, and technical specifications.
- Team Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to ensure project milestones are met efficiently.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.S. M.E.) or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the industrial manufacturing or automation sector.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software. Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Analysis Tools: Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus) and simulation software.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and provide innovative solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
