Responsibilities
- Lead complex cardiovascular surgeries including CABG, valve repairs, and aortic procedures.
- Mentor surgical residents and junior staff on advanced techniques and best practices.
- Spearhead the development and implementation of new minimally invasive surgical protocols.
- Collaborate with interventional cardiology and radiology teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Conduct regular clinical reviews and quality improvement audits for the surgical unit.
- Participate in clinical research trials and academic publishing within the field of cardiothoracic surgery.
Qualifications
- Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience in a high-volume cardiac center.
- Proven track record in robotic-assisted surgical techniques.
- Active medical license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing large multidisciplinary teams.
- A commitment to research, teaching, and evidence-based medicine.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills for patient and family consultation.
