Responsibilities
- Manage Fleet Performance: Oversee the daily operations of the fleet, including scheduling, dispatching, and monitoring driver performance to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Maintenance & Compliance: Implement and maintain rigorous maintenance schedules to ensure vehicle reliability. Ensure full compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Route Optimization: Analyze traffic patterns and cargo requirements to develop efficient routes that reduce fuel consumption and travel time.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and lead a team of dispatchers and drivers, fostering a culture of safety and professionalism.
- Cost Control: Monitor operational costs, including fuel, tires, and repairs, and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.
- Reporting: Generate and analyze operational reports to identify trends, resolve issues, and improve overall fleet efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management, logistics coordination, or transportation operations.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of fleet management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and GPS tracking systems.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and safety standards.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, clients, and senior management.
- Problem Solving: Proven ability to make quick, data-driven decisions in high-pressure situations.
