Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Direct daily fleet activities, including dispatching, maintenance scheduling, and driver management to ensure 100% on-time delivery rates.
- Cost Management: Monitor fuel consumption, repair costs, and operational expenses to identify trends and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and driver training sessions.
- Route Optimization: Utilize advanced logistics software to plan efficient routes that minimize downtime and maximize cargo capacity.
- Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with third-party maintenance providers and insurance carriers.
- Team Coordination: Foster a collaborative environment between dispatch, warehouse, and maintenance teams.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in fleet management, logistics, or transportation operations.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in fleet management software (e.g., Geotab, Samsara, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and hazardous material handling procedures.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead diverse teams.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex logistical issues under pressure.
