Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations and maintenance schedules of the company vehicle fleet, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum uptime.
- Analyze fuel consumption and operational costs to implement strategies that reduce waste and improve overall profitability.
- Ensure strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and internal safety policies across all transportation activities.
- Coordinate with dispatch teams and drivers to optimize routes and manage load planning effectively.
- Develop and manage the fleet budget, forecasting needs for repairs, replacements, and acquisitions.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of junior fleet staff and logistics coordinators.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in fleet management, logistics coordination, or transportation operations.
- Strong working knowledge of logistics software and fleet management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Proven ability to analyze complex data sets to drive operational improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, vendors, and senior management.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not mandatory for management role).
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is highly desirable.
