Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight: Manage daily fleet operations, ensuring all vehicles are road-ready and routes are optimized for efficiency.
- Driver Management: Supervise a team of professional drivers, conducting performance reviews, safety briefings, and scheduling.
- Maintenance & Compliance: Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule preventative maintenance and ensure full compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations.
- Cost Control: Develop and implement strategies to reduce fuel consumption, repair costs, and overall operational overhead.
- Reporting & Analytics: Analyze telematics data and operational reports to identify trends, improve safety metrics, and forecast future needs.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3-5+ years of proven experience in fleet management or logistics coordination.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Logistics or Business preferred.
- Licensure: Valid Driver’s License (Class A or B preferred, but not mandatory for the management role).
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and fleet management software (e.g., Samsara, Fleetio, or similar).
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA compliance, and safety standards.
- Leadership: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse workforce.
