You will work closely with our Executive Chef to push the boundaries of modern gastronomy, mentoring our junior staff while ensuring consistent, world-class execution across every plate.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and direct the culinary team to ensure premium quality standards.
- Develop innovative seasonal menus and contribute to dish conceptualization and testing.
- Manage food cost control, inventory procurement, and waste reduction strategies.
- Maintain impeccable sanitation standards in compliance with Illinois health regulations.
- Mentor and coach line cooks to elevate their technical skills and kitchen efficiency.
- Coordinate with front-of-house management to ensure seamless guest service and special event execution.
- Monitor ingredient quality and oversee relationships with boutique local vendors.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in high-end, fine-dining kitchen environments.
- Proven track record in a leadership role (Sous Chef or Chef de Partie).
- Deep knowledge of modern culinary techniques, sourcing, and flavor profiling.
- Strong understanding of P&L management, labor costs, and inventory systems.
- Exceptional leadership abilities with a focus on team development and conflict resolution.
- Current ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while maintaining composure.
