Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage the organization’s Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) management system to ensure full compliance with provincial and federal regulations (e.g., OHSR, CEPA).

  • Lead and coordinate incident investigations, including root cause analysis, and prepare comprehensive reports for regulatory bodies.

  • Monitor environmental performance metrics, including waste management, emissions, and resource usage, to drive continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with government agencies, auditors, and external consultants to maintain a clean compliance record.
  • Advocate for sustainable practices that reduce environmental footprint while maintaining operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in EHS management, preferably within the construction, manufacturing, or engineering sectors.
  • Professional designation such as CRSP, CSP, CIH, or CHIM is highly desired.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian environmental legislation, including BC WorkSafeBC regulations.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and regulatory codes.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence behavior and drive change.
  • Proficiency in EHS software and MS Office Suite.
