Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive EHS management systems aligned with ISO 14001 and OSHA VPP standards
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, corrective action implementation for safety/environmental incidents
- Conduct facility audits and assessments to identify hazards and ensure regulatory compliance (EPA, TCEQ, DOT)
- Design and deliver engaging EHS training programs for 500+ employees across 3 manufacturing sites
- Manage hazardous waste streams, air permits, and spill prevention protocols (SPCC, SWPPP)
- Drive sustainability initiatives including carbon footprint reduction and circular economy practices
- Collaborate with engineering teams on machine safety design and process hazard analyses
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 10+ years progressive EHS experience in manufacturing or heavy industry
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) certification required
- Expert knowledge of OSHA, EPA, TCEQ regulations and ANSI Z10 standards
- Proven track record of reducing TRIR rates by 30%+ and achieving compliance milestones
- Advanced data analysis skills using EHS software (e.g., Enablon, Intelex, or similar platforms)
- Strong project management experience with multi-site rollouts of safety programs
- OSHA 500 and 501 trainer certification preferred
