Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and promote best practices.
- Ensure strict adherence to all federal, state, and local EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, etc.).
- Conduct regular EHS audits, inspections, and risk assessments, identifying potential hazards and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and ensure timely reporting and robust follow-up to prevent recurrence.
- Provide engaging and effective EHS training to employees at all levels, fostering a proactive and accountable safety culture.
- Oversee hazardous waste management, emergency preparedness, and response plans, ensuring operational readiness.
- Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, and project teams to integrate EHS requirements into new projects, processes, and equipment from conception to completion.
- Monitor EHS performance metrics, prepare detailed reports for senior management, and recommend strategic improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in EHS management, preferably within manufacturing, energy, or industrial sectors.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar professional certification highly preferred.
- Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and relevant state environmental regulations (e.g., TCEQ).
- Demonstrated ability to effectively develop, implement, and manage robust EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in EHS software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven track record of driving cultural change, achieving compliance excellence, and continuously improving EHS performance.
