Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, etc.).
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions to prevent accidents and promote a safe working environment.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and develop effective corrective and preventative action plans to mitigate future occurrences.
  • Manage environmental permitting, reporting, and record-keeping, ensuring all environmental obligations are met promptly and accurately.
  • Design and deliver engaging EHS training programs for all levels of employees, fostering a strong safety culture and environmental awareness.
  • Monitor and analyze EHS performance metrics, preparing reports for senior management to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversee emergency response planning and drills, ensuring the organization is prepared to respond effectively to various scenarios.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and human resources, to integrate EHS considerations into all business processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in an EHS leadership role, preferably within an industrial, manufacturing, or energy sector environment.
  • Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) are highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in OSHA, EPA, and other relevant EHS regulations and standards, with a strong understanding of Texas environmental regulations (TCEQ).
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective EHS management systems and programs.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of performing detailed risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Proficiency in EHS management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
