Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies and programs to ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state regulations.
- Conduct regular site audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Lead safety training initiatives, including orientation, emergency preparedness, and specialized hazardous material handling.
- Manage environmental permitting processes, air/water quality monitoring, and waste disposal documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement in workplace ergonomics, chemical management, and fire prevention systems.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external regulatory agencies, insurance auditors, and local government stakeholders.
- Analyze safety KPIs and report performance metrics directly to executive leadership to guide strategic safety investments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing EHS role.
- Professional certification highly preferred (CSP, CIH, or CHMM).
- Deep expertise in federal and state EHS regulations, including OSHA 1910 standards.
- Proven ability to influence culture and lead behavioral-based safety initiatives.
- Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly.
- Proficiency in EHS software management platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
