Responsibilities
- Develop and implement robust EHS programs that exceed OSHA, EPA, and state regulatory requirements.
- Conduct thorough root-cause analysis for all workplace incidents and implement corrective action plans.
- Lead internal and external audits to ensure rigorous compliance with environmental permits and safety protocols.
- Facilitate comprehensive employee training programs on hazard communication, emergency response, and PPE usage.
- Drive site-wide sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, emissions monitoring, and energy efficiency programs.
- Serve as the primary liaison for regulatory agencies, insurance carriers, and corporate leadership regarding EHS performance.
- Oversee the maintenance of all EHS-related documentation, permits, and reporting databases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in EHS within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Professional certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) preferred.
- Expert-level knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations.
- Proven ability to influence management and staff to foster a proactive safety culture.
- Excellent technical writing and project management skills with a data-driven approach to safety reporting.
- Proficiency in EHS management software and MS Office Suite.
