Responsibilities
- Develop & Implement Strategy: Create and enforce comprehensive EHS policies, procedures, and programs aligned with OSHA, EPA, and ISO 14001 standards.
- Risk Management: Conduct rigorous risk assessments and site audits to identify hazards and implement mitigation strategies.
- Incident Investigation: Lead thorough investigations into accidents and near-misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Training & Development: Design and deliver engaging safety training sessions for all levels of personnel to foster a proactive safety mindset.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor changing environmental regulations and ensure the organization remains fully compliant with local, state, and federal laws.
- Emergency Preparedness: Oversee the development and regular testing of emergency response plans and disaster drills.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification: CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in EHS management within the industrial or energy sector.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, HAZMAT handling, and hazardous waste management.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train diverse audiences effectively.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence change at the executive level.
