Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs and policies in line with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
- Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize recurrence.
- Provide expert guidance and training to employees on EHS best practices, emergency preparedness, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and maintain all EHS documentation, permits, and reporting requirements accurately and timely.
- Oversee the development and implementation of environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001) and occupational health and safety management systems (e.g., ISO 45001).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into all business operations and projects.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in EHS performance, promoting a proactive safety culture across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in an EHS leadership role, preferably within manufacturing, energy, or industrial sectors.
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or similar are highly desirable.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective EHS programs and achieving compliance excellence.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage complex EHS issues.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in EHS management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
