Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies and procedures that align with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses to prevent recurrence and ensure root cause analysis.
- Manage environmental compliance programs, including waste management, air emissions, and water usage reporting.
- Design and deliver engaging safety training programs for employees at all levels to foster a culture of safety.
- Oversee sustainability initiatives and ESG reporting to meet investor and regulatory expectations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety management within a corporate or industrial setting.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA standards, and ISO 14001 environmental management systems.
- Proven track record of successfully managing safety audits and inspections.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to travel to multiple sites within the New York metropolitan area.
