Responsibilities
- Lead the design and analysis of various civil engineering projects including site development, grading, drainage, utilities, roadways, and stormwater management systems.
- Prepare detailed engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and reports in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Manage project scopes, budgets, and schedules, ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and due diligence to inform design decisions and identify potential risks or opportunities.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors to ensure seamless project coordination and communication.
- Review and stamp engineering drawings and documents as a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or under the supervision of a PE.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and public hearings to represent the firm and articulate project details and solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- 3-7 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design and project management, preferably within a consulting environment.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington State, or the ability to obtain it within 6-12 months.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal codes and regulations pertinent to civil engineering design and construction (e.g., stormwater manuals, WSDOT standards).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A valid U.S. Driver's License and the ability to travel to project sites as needed.
