Responsibilities
- Oversee daily transportation operations including fleet management, route optimization, and carrier relationships
- Develop and implement cost-effective transportation strategies aligned with business objectives
- Analyze performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous optimization
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations, DOT guidelines, and company safety protocols
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate multi-modal logistics solutions
- Manage vendor contracts, negotiations, and performance evaluations
- Lead transportation technology implementations and digital transformation initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive experience in transportation operations management
- Strong expertise in fleet management, regulatory compliance, and TMS platforms
- Proven track record of optimizing transportation costs and service levels
- Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in data visualization tools
- Excellent leadership abilities with experience managing cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of multi-modal transportation (road, rail, air, intermodal)
- Valid CDL Class A license (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
