Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive transportation strategies to maximize efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Manage relationships with third-party carriers and optimize regional freight distribution lanes.
- Analyze supply chain metrics to identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective strategies.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of dispatchers and logistics coordinators.
- Oversee compliance with federal and state transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
- Manage the annual transportation budget, focusing on cost-reduction and service level improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in transportation or logistics management, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Expert proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Blue Yonder).
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data sets into actionable business insights.
- Exceptional leadership skills and a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams.
- Deep understanding of DOT regulations and industry safety protocols.
