Responsibilities
- Oversee daily transportation operations including route planning, fleet allocation, and driver coordination across multiple modes
- Implement and optimize logistics technology platforms to enhance visibility and efficiency
- Develop KPIs and performance metrics to monitor operational effectiveness and cost control
- Manage compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations and carrier safety protocols
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives reducing transit times by 15%+ annually
- Collaborate with procurement on carrier relationships and contract negotiations
- Train and mentor transportation team members on best practices and emerging technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- 7+ years progressive transportation management experience with multi-modal operations
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in logistics software (TMW, Descartes, etc.)
- Expert knowledge of FMCSA regulations and transportation compliance frameworks
- Proven track record in fleet optimization and cost reduction strategies
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with data-driven decision-making approach
- Strong leadership experience managing cross-functional teams of 10+ professionals
- PMP or CSCP certification preferred
