Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end transportation operations including dispatch, routing optimization, and carrier management
- Implement data-driven strategies to reduce transportation costs by 15-20% annually
- Lead cross-functional teams to ensure seamless freight movement across multiple modes (road, rail, air)
- Develop and maintain compliance programs exceeding FMCSA/DOT regulations
- Analyze KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate service agreements
- Coordinate with warehouse and distribution centers for integrated logistics solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Administration (MBA preferred)
- 7+ years in transportation operations with 3+ years in leadership roles
- Expertise in TMS platforms (Manhattan, Oracle, or similar)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in route optimization and cost reduction
- FMCSA/DOT compliance certification
- Proven track record in managing multi-modal transportation networks
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and crisis management experience
