Responsibilities
- Oversee daily dispatch operations for 50+ drivers and 150+ shipments
- Implement IoT fleet tracking systems to reduce idle time by 30%
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (warehouse, sales, maintenance) during peak seasons
- Develop contingency plans for weather-related disruptions in the Midwest corridor
- Analyze KPIs to optimize route efficiency and fuel consumption
- Manage $2M annual transportation budget with quarterly variance analysis
- Lead compliance initiatives for FMCSA regulations and ELD mandates
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Transportation Management
- 5+ years experience in multi-state transportation operations
- Proficiency in TMS platforms (Manhattan, Blue Yonder) and telematics systems
- OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent safety management training
- Proven track record reducing transportation costs by 15%+ annually
- Strong data literacy with experience in route optimization algorithms
- CDL-A license preferred (not required)
- Experience managing unionized driver teams
