Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive, evidence-based assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
- Develop, implement, and review child protection plans and care pathways in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Liaise effectively with external agencies, including police, health services, and education providers.
- Prepare clear, concise, and court-ready reports for judicial reviews and care proceedings.
- Monitor the progress of cases and intervene immediately if a child is at imminent risk of harm.
- Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to children and caregivers during difficult transitions.
Qualifications
- Qualified Social Worker (Degree level or equivalent) with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration (or Social Work England registration).
- Minimum of 2 years of post-qualifying experience in Child Protection, Safeguarding, or Family Support.
- Deep understanding of current legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills with the ability to make difficult decisions under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven track record of writing professional reports.
- Full, clean UK driving license and willingness to travel within the Greater London area.
