As a Senior ICU Nurse, you will be at the forefront of patient advocacy, working alongside a multidisciplinary team of specialists to deliver life-saving interventions and compassionate care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct professional nursing care to patients in critical condition, monitoring hemodynamic status and neurological signs.
- Manage advanced life-support systems including ventilators, CRRT, and intra-aortic balloon pumps.
- Collaborate with intensivists and specialists to develop and implement comprehensive individualized care plans.
- Lead and mentor junior nursing staff, fostering a culture of clinical excellence and evidence-based practice.
- Maintain meticulous electronic medical records (EMR) in compliance with JCAHO and hospital standards.
- Communicate complex medical information clearly and empathetically to patients' families and legal guardians.
- Participate in unit-based councils and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution required.
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas or Compact State.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in a high-acuity Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification is highly preferred.
- Exceptional critical thinking, crisis management, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with modern EMR systems (Epic or Cerner preferred).
