We are seeking a Senior Underwriter to join our dynamic team at Apex Risk Solutions. Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate insurance applications to determine risk exposure and appropriate coverage levels.
- Review and renew existing policies, adjusting terms and premiums as necessary based on portfolio performance.
- Collaborate with brokers and agents to understand client needs and provide expert guidance on coverage options.
- Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines and standards to ensure consistency across the portfolio.
- Mentor junior underwriters and participate in training initiatives to enhance team capabilities.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA or certification (CPCU, ARe) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and assess complex risk scenarios.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
- Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid property/casualty insurance license required.
