Responsibilities
- Strategic Network Design: Develop and implement comprehensive transportation strategies to optimize route efficiency and minimize transit times across our regional and national network.
- Cost Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial modeling and variance analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities in fuel, labor, and carrier fees.
- Carrier Management: Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and internal fleet operations to ensure service level agreement (SLA) compliance.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all transportation operations adhere to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and advanced analytics to forecast demand and adjust capacity dynamically.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in transportation planning, logistics management, or supply chain operations.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in transportation management software (e.g., SAP TM, Oracle Transportation Management, Manhattan Associates) and advanced Excel skills.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable business intelligence.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance, and hazardous material handling procedures.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex plans to executive leadership.
