Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end transportation operations including LTL, FTL, and intermodal freight management
- Develop and implement strategic routing plans to reduce transit times by 15%+ annually
- Lead vendor management relationships with 50+ carrier partners across North America
- Drive sustainability initiatives through route optimization and alternative fuel adoption
- Analyze KPIs using SAP TM and Power BI to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Manage multimodal transportation budgets exceeding $25M annually
- Lead cross-functional teams in crisis management during supply chain disruptions
- Implement IoT and telematics solutions for real-time fleet visibility
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Transportation Management (MBA preferred)
- 8+ years progressive experience in transportation operations with 3PL experience
- Expertise in multimodal transportation (rail, truck, air, intermodal)
- Proficient in transportation management systems (SAP TM, Oracle TMS, or Manhattan Active)
- PMP or CSCP certification strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success in reducing freight costs by 10-20%
- Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making capabilities
- Experience managing remote logistics teams of 15+ professionals
