Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic transportation plans to optimize fleet utilization and reduce overall transit times.
- Manage strategic partnerships, contract negotiations, and performance evaluations for multi-modal carriers and third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
- Oversee strict compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and regional transport regulations to ensure peak operational safety.
- Leverage enterprise-grade Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to monitor real-time shipments and proactively mitigate supply chain bottlenecks.
- Analyze logistics KPIs and financial metrics to drive cost-saving initiatives and streamline last-mile delivery processes.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a diverse team of logistics coordinators, dispatchers, and route planners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 6+ years of progressive experience in transportation management, fleet operations, or logistics leadership.
- Proven track record managing large-scale, multi-temperature, or dry-van carrier networks.
- Deep expertise with advanced TMS platforms (e.g., OTM, MercuryGate, Blue Yonder) and routing optimization software.
- Strong analytical acumen with proficiency in BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI) or advanced Excel for data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and manage high-value vendor contracts.
