Responsibilities
- Oversee daily fleet operations including routing, scheduling, and resource allocation for 200+ vehicles
- Develop and implement cost-reduction strategies through route optimization and fuel efficiency programs
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and Illinois state transportation regulations
- Lead cross-functional teams including dispatch, maintenance, and driver training specialists
- Analyze transportation data using GIS and TMS platforms to identify performance improvements
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts with third-party logistics providers
- Drive sustainability initiatives including EV fleet integration and emission reduction targets
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Transportation Engineering
- 7+ years of progressive experience in transportation management
- Valid CDL Class A license with clean driving record
- Expertise in transportation management systems (TMW, Omnitracs, or similar)
- Proven track record optimizing multi-modal transportation networks
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools
- OSHA Hazmat certification and crisis management experience
- PMP certification preferred
