Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize multi-modal transportation networks for regional and national freight distribution
- Manage relationships with 3PL providers, carriers, and warehouse partners to ensure service excellence
- Implement TMS (Transportation Management System) solutions to reduce costs and improve visibility
- Analyze logistics data to identify cost-saving opportunities and performance improvements
- Lead cross-functional teams in transportation strategy execution and compliance with FMCSA regulations
- Oversee budget management for transportation operations (>$5M annual spend)
- Drive sustainability initiatives through route optimization and green transportation solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration (MBA preferred)
- 8+ years of progressive experience in transportation logistics with 3+ years in management
- Proven expertise in TMS platforms (Manhattan, Oracle, or Blue Yonder)
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in transportation KPIs and financial modeling
- FMC certification and deep knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations
- Experience managing multi-modal transportation networks (rail, intermodal, LTL, TL)
- Demonstrated success in implementing cost reduction initiatives (15%+ savings targets)
- Excellent negotiation skills with carrier contract management experience
