Responsibilities
- Develop and implement multi-modal transportation strategies (road, rail, air, sea) to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Lead cross-functional teams including dispatchers, drivers, and warehouse personnel to ensure seamless delivery operations
- Analyze transportation data and KPIs to identify optimization opportunities and reduce carbon footprint
- Manage relationships with carriers, vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and service excellence
- Overhaul routing systems using AI-powered logistics software to minimize transit times and fuel consumption
- Coordinate emergency logistics responses during disruptions and weather-related challenges
- Mentor junior logistics professionals and foster a culture of continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transportation, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 7 years in transportation management with 3+ years in leadership roles
- Expertise in TMS software (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and route optimization platforms
- Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations and international transportation compliance
- Proven track record in reducing transportation costs by 15%+ while improving service levels
- Experience managing multi-million dollar transportation budgets and vendor negotiations
- Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools
- CDL-A license or equivalent industry certification required
