Responsibilities
- Coordinate multi-modal transportation networks (trucking, rail, intermodal) for high-volume freight shipments
- Implement real-time tracking systems and proactively resolve transit delays through carrier negotiations
- Analyze transportation data to optimize routing and reduce fuel costs by 15% annually
- Ensure strict compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and hazmat regulations
- Manage relationships with 50+ carrier partners and negotiate competitive rates
- Develop contingency plans for weather disruptions and port congestion
- Generate performance reports for executive leadership using Power BI/Tableau
- Mentor junior logistics staff on industry best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration
- 5+ years in transportation/logistics with 2+ years in team leadership
- Expertise in TMS platforms (e.g., Blue Yonder, Oracle Transportation)
- Certified Transportation Professional (CTP) or equivalent credential
- Advanced proficiency in Excel data modeling and route optimization
- Strong negotiation skills with documented carrier cost savings
- Experience managing hazmat and temperature-controlled freight
- Ability to work rotating shifts during peak shipping seasons
